Tarahumara organic cotton t-shirt | man | vintage green in mineral stain

Organic cotton t-shirt flocked with the Road Runner bird and the Tarahumara inscription designed by Karel Matejovsky. 100% Made in Europe (from knitting to tailoring).

In 1973, Karel Matejovsky created the Tarahumara typeface and the graphic design of the “ Road Runner ” bird. Nicknamed in a nod to its top speed on land of 40 km/hour, this bird (Géocoucou of its real name) is one of the emblems of the Spiridonians.

The Tarahumaras are a people of super-athletes from northern Mexico. Their singularities: they excel in distance running. In the 1930s, Antonin Artaud meets them in Mexico and devotes a book to his mystical experience at their side ("The Tarahumaras ", Folio Essays ).

More recently, Christopher McDougall make them known worldwide. In his book " Born to run ” (available in our Read & Chill section), he tells of this “light-footed” people, capable of running phenomenal distances (+ 100 km per day) barefoot or in thin sandals. Their story is fascinating.
