______

* Odette Roig: generosity and endurance in the service of Spiridon

Odette was just twenty years old, when Spiridon was created, when she wrote to the editor-in-chief to tell him of her passion for long-distance running, long ignored or even despised in high places. She had just taken part in a 100 km event in Germany, where she met René Espinet, one of the pioneers of this distance, who told her about Spiridon, a “different” magazine. Odette wasted no time in offering her services to the magazine, where she would work for years in the subscription management. There will also be her photographic contribution, because she knew how to appreciate and then admire the human aspect of the long-term effort.
