In 1979, Jacques Berlie and Christian Roussel completed the Tour du Mont-Blanc in 21 hours and 48 minutes—alone, at night, with an R5 as a support vehicle. The Spartathlon, or running in the footsteps of Pheidippides

In 490 BC, an Athenian messenger named Pheidippides reportedly covered 246 kilometers in a day and a half to reach Sparta before the Battle of Marathon.
