Forrest Gump - Winston Groom

It's a very small book that we have here (15 cm x 10 cm) in the English language. Small in size but big in influence for distance runners. We explain to you.

Published for the first time in 1986, this book became a best seller when it was adapted for the cinema in 1994 by Robert Zemeckis. It tells the tumultuous view of Forrest Gump (played in the film by Tom Hanks), a "simple-minded" native of Alabama who finds himself involved in the main events that mark the history of the United States between the years 1950 and 1980.

This book is in our selection for a good reason. Remember the passage where Forrest runs for 3 years, crossing the country several times from East to West. Well, this passage would have been influenced by the feat of Bruce Tulloh who had succeeded in reaching New York in 1969, starting from Los Angeles, that is 4602 kilometers in 64 days of racing. A good ultra trail...

The circle is complete since Bruce had himself been influenced by the Tarahumaras, his dream was to meet them, which he did in 1971, we give you his story in the blog.
